Jealous of a New GT 4th/5th Grade Class

February 2, 2011

You’ll be green with envy when you hear this:

Gifted 4th and 5th graders in Billings now have the option of participating in a class made up entirely of identified gifted students!  Terri Porisch is teaching the class of 14 fourth graders and 14 fifth graders at Poly Drive Elementary.  Students were chosen by lottery and parents must provide transportation to the elementary school.

How did this happen?

  • Parent advocacy & teacher support
  • State gifted grants are being used to provide curriculum designed by the renowned William & Mary Center for Gifted Education and for the M3 math curriculum designed by the Neag Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development

Terri will present a sectional at the MEA-MFT conference on her new journey.  To find out more, plan to attend the sectional or email Terri with questions.

So…does anybody want to see this option in Bozeman?
