Gift Ideas for Teachers and Administrators

November 16, 2011

Are you looking for a gift for a teacher this year?  Tired of the same old red apples?

  • How about a gift membership in the National Association for Gifted Children?  Individual membership includes a subscription to one of NAGC’s flagship publications, Gifted Child Quarterly (which now includes the newly redesigned practical resource: Teaching for High Potential)
  • Books are always a great idea and there are many available from Prufrock Press, a publishing company that specializes in gifted education.   You can give a gift certificate to Prufrock and let the teacher pick out what she wants, or you can select from these fine recommendations.  Some of Prufrock’s books are available as ebooks.  [To order a gift certificate, call 1-800-998-2208 and ask for Shannon or Ginny. ]
  • A more extensive list of excellent books for teachers – and not specific to one publisher – was created by Montana AGATE’s former president, Tamara Fisher on her blog, Unwrapping the Gifted.
  • For a gift that keeps on giving, you could gift a subscription to Gifted Child Today or one of Prufrock’s two other journals.
