Growing Roots and Wings

April 4, 2013

My mother-in-law used to describe my husband as “an old man at age 12”, meaning he was wise beyond his years, yet still a kid. Asynchronous development is typical of gifted kids. So how do we as parents know when to give them more latitude as mini-adults and when they need all the support that a child of their age craves?

Here’s a great article on how to help our children grow roots AND wings, called “Guiding High Potential Learners“.
