You’ve been told your child is gifted… Now what?

January 4, 2015

Tuesday, January 6

Willson Office Building Board Room, 404 West Main Street

6:30 – 7:30 PM

Nikki Vradenburg and Wendy Morical

The label of gifted is an attempt by educators to signal a learning aptitude present in certain students. These students may have special learning needs or distinct social and emotional needs. Parents of children who possess this label often are given little information about both the process and the results of identification.  They may have many questions:

  • What does gifted mean?
  • Why was our child identified?
  • Are there other kids like mine?
  • What will change at school?
  • Do I need to do anything differently?
  • How can I find answers to my questions?

Please join two education professionals in the field of gifted education as these questions and others are addressed in an evening presentation.  Topics to be covered include identification, traits and behaviors of gifted children, working with your child’s school, and resources for your family.
